The UK PropTech Association (UKPA) are thrilled to announce Great Portland Estates plc (GPE) as this year’s headline sponsor for UK PropTech Awards 2021. GPE a FTSE 250 property investment and development company own £2.5 billion of real estate in central London and are driving innovation within the property sector.
GPE joined UKPA as Gold Members under the newly launched Property membership last year. They have actively been involved in membership activities, guiding PropTech members and sharing an insight into the technology advancements and innovations happening within the company.
Managing Director at the UK PropTech Association, Sammy Pahal, says “It’s been invaluable for our community to have GPE involved in the association, supporting our mission to drive digital transformation of the property industry and now sponsors of our annual awards. GPE have shown collaboration with the PropTech community and are actively investing in technology in a variety of ways and the sponsorship solidifies their own commitment to digital transformation.”
James Pellatt, Director of Workplace and Innovation at Great Portland Estates (GPE) commented: “At GPE we are committed to driving innovation by making the most of available technology to continually enhance our customers workplace experience. Buildings such as The Hickman being accredited with the first ever Smartscore Platinum rating demonstrates our vision for using market leading technology. By combining our workplace app sesame and the digital twin tech we deliver world class sustainable developments. Our sponsorship of the PropTech Awards is a proud moment for GPE as it marks the importance of creating healthy, productive offices for the future of London.”
The awards are a time to celebrate professionals and companies in the PropTech ecosystem by awarding those that are driving digital transformation. Whether by demonstrating leadership within their companies, displaying the qualities needed for the industry to thrive or taking a collaborative and innovative approach to tackling industry challenges, the Awards make note of those who are making a difference.
During the pandemic, the PropTech industry has become crucial for the property industry to better understand risk, continue operations in a constantly changing environment and meet new customer demands. Amongst these issues is the increased prevalence of ESG as we become more conscious of our role in society as individuals and an industry. The use of data has never been more important in tackling environmental challenges and creating a foundation of stability during these rapid changes. Never has the industry needed to come together more than it does now.
To reflect this, UKPA have introduced new awards such as ‘social impact’, ‘environmental impact’ and ‘data driven business’, and have joint awards for the first time to celebrate collaboration across the industry!
This year, the awards ceremony will have the virtual aspect of the 2020 awards and the best of the legendary 2019 awards. Winners will be announced online, however, there will be a special viewing party to celebrate the winners and bring the industry together at a venue in the London for approximately 300 people. Tickets are now on sale.
In addition to the awards this year’s guests can expect to be the first to first to find out who has been elected to the UKPA board of directors for 2021/2022, with an announcement being made at the close of the event following a month of deliberation and voting from UKPA members.
