We have recently confirmed a strategic partnership with SuperTech, the UK’s only professional and business services technology partnership, to promote growing West Midlands sector.
Following on from FinTech, it is billed as the next high-growth technology enabled sector and there are already 25 dedicated PropTech companies operating in the region. With over 1000 employees, the sector has the highest concentration of PropTech businesses outside London.
During the course of the strategic partnership, SuperTech will host a series of events including profiling and raising awareness of major and growing firms in the West Midlands, Purplebricks (Solihull-based) being the most famous. This event will be lead by SuperTech PropTech leads Michael Bristow (CEO and founder of CrowdProperty) and Simon Davis (CEO and co-founder of Nimbus maps).
Davis commented: “PropTech is one of the world’s fastest growing industries. Between 2020 and 2021 more than $12 billion was raised by and invested in PropTech firms globally. We already have a number of successful businesses in the region and this new partnership is designed to help promote that and encourage new businesses and entrepreneurs to enter the Market here in the West Midlands.”
Bristow added: ” The West Midlands is an ideal launch location for technology- enabled businesses. We’re home to more than 48,500 businesses, professional and financial services companies employing 343,000 people and contributing £28 billion to the regional economy annually. There are already 122 FinTech companies employing around 7,375 people around 46% of which are classified as scaleups. PropTech is clearly the next big growth sector and through this new partnership with UK PropTech Association, we’re hoping to further spotlight that rapid growth, creating new jobs and contributing further to the regional and UK economy.”
Regarding SuperTech and the West Midlands joining us, our managing director Saminder Pahal said: “We are really excited to be partnering with SuperTech to bring together the people and support the PropTech ecosystem in the West Midlands. This is a natural first step for us as a UK focused association to branch out into the regions and align with one of our key objects to promote and support the whole of the UK as the best place to start and grow your PropTech business.”
To showcase the thriving PropTech sector in the West Midlands we will be collaboratively launching a series of events with SuperTech that will feature award-winning market-leading businesses based in the region. These events will be free to attend and will be held on May 4th. They will be aimed at anyone interested in or already working in the real estate and built environment ecosystem.
