In our latest Spotlight Interview, we spoke with Brian Hearne, CEO & Founder at Complete Easy. Brian shares the story behind Complete Easy, the reasons behind slow transaction processes and their role in tackling this problem. Brian “I have witnessed the delays and frustration which the conveyancing process suffers from and wish to offer a digital platform which introduces transparency and accountability to the process.”
Q1- Brian as we know you have been an accomplished lawyer for the last 10 years, what led to the decision of starting your own technology business, Complete Easy?
A-I have witnessed the delays and frustration which the conveyancing process suffers from and wish to offer a digital platform which introduces transparency and accountability to the process.
Q2-A recent report suggested almost 74% of people reported slow transaction processes as one of their biggest roadblocks when buying and we often see how stressful the process can get for everyone involved, how does Complete Easy tackle this problem?
A- The Platform unites the stakeholders to the transaction and allows easy progress tracking.
Q3- There is an on-going debate within the industry between agents and conveyancers about what causes a slowdown in transactions, what Is your perspective as a lawyer?
A- There are several factors, such as overworked conveyancers, whom (as a result of being too busy) cannot be contacted by the their client(s), estate agents whom do not actively assist in the process but to the fore (in my opinion) is the lack of transparency and/or understanding of the conveyancing process for buyers and seller (which the Complete-Easy platform directly addresses).
Q4- The Complete Easy platform aims to unite the different stakeholders involved in the process and provide more transparency, were they any challenges bringing the stakeholders together? How open were they to the platform and the transparency?
A- The parties can easily register, track the progress of the deal and engage with each other in real time and in a more streamlined manner.
Q5- Lastly what are your plans for Complete Easy this year? What does the roadmap look like?
A-I hope to achieve a steady flow of transactions being completed through the platform and partner with estate agents and solicitors in doing so. I am also considering partnering with a reliable third-party CRM to easily connect with a number of estate agents preferred platforms.
