This session invites stakeholders from across the real estate industry to participate in a RE:UK roundtable discussion exploring how sustainability factors translate into value and investment decision making.

Sustainability is now a core part of institutional real estate investment and valuation. Most investors accept the business case for considering sustainability factors. The challenge now is understanding how these factors can be applied more consistently in asset-level underwriting, helping fund managers assess their implications for value, both today and over the market cycle, to make better investment decisions.

This interactive session bringing together professionals, including investment and asset managers, valuers, leasing advisers, lenders, insurers and consultants, aims to explore how sustainability factors influence assessments, challenge market assumptions, and discuss what affects decisions today, what may become important during ownership or at exit, and how views change under different market conditions. This will give participants the opportunity to understand how the same investment questions are approached by different disciplines and compare their own thinking with that of the wider market.

The discussion will help shape an RE:UK publication that supports a more consistent and practical investment decision-making by distinguishing between what is actually reflected in current market practice and what should be considered through forward-looking investment underwriting and scenario analysis.
