Overview
The UK PropTech Association (UKPA) and the Ministry of Housing, Communities, and Local Government (MHCLG) are venturing in a partnership to deliver a PropTech Growth Programme.
The PropTech sector has a critical role to play in digitally transforming the planning system, aiding town centre regeneration, unlocking new homes, and delivering its AI strategy. Through the formation of a new grant funded partnership with MHCLG’s Digital Planning programme, the UK PropTech Association aims to build awareness of the sector with key partners and foster greater collaboration to increase economic growth and productivity.
The partnership follows the recent launch of The Opportunity for PropTech: Leveraging technology for the UK’s built environment, which was commissioned by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) to support its Digital Planning Programme. The report highlighted the significant increase in investment opportunities for the sector, given its projected growth potential of 19.7% by 2032, and contained a number of measures designed to deliver growth and drive investment.
Opportunity for PropTech Report
“The Opportunity for PropTech” is a new report in partnership with PUBLIC to evidence the supply, demand and benefits of property technology solutions in the UK. It was commissioned by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to support its Digital Planning programme.
Leveraging Technology for the UK’s Built Environment
This report explores the transformative potential of PropTech in addressing critical challenges within the UK real estate sector, while also providing data and insights into the total addressable PropTech market in the UK compared to other countries and use cases.
With the real estate market valued at an estimated $23.2 trillion in 2024, there is a significant opportunity for PropTech to drive efficiency, sustainability, and innovation in housing, regeneration, and investment. By enabling 80–90% time reductions through automated site assessments and a 1500% increase in planning consultation engagement, PropTech can cut costs, accelerate timelines, and boost productivity, positioning it as a key driver of a more sustainable and efficient property sector.
